Just to verify the behavior, I did a restore with -PITDATE=11/16/1998,   it
mounted all the tapes and session counts indicated all the bytes in the
directory were moved (although nothing was actually restored).  It was a
small directory with 30 files and it took 15 minutes.    I did a restore of
the same directory with -FROMD=11/16/1998, and no files were moved and it
took 2 minutes.    So I guess in our case, if we just want to do an
incremental recovery to make sure every file in a large directory is there,
we need to use -FROMD  and not   -PITDATE.

The -PITDATE option will use the No-Query Restore protocol.
The -FROMDATE option will cause it to use the "classic" restore protocol.
