If you are using raw device, you don't need to do a dsmfmt command on it.
All you need to do is go into ADSM and define the dbvol. We typically use
JFS filesystems because the added insurance of the JFS log incase something
goes awry.

        After having created Raw volumes through operating system commands ,

        file already exists. I checked all manuals and found no procedure

        creating this. Wonder How you managed to use dsmfmt on Raw volumes.
