We recently upgraded our most frequently used/important clients from v2 to v3
(OS/2, but I guess the results will be approx. the same for AIX/NT). The update
process took very little time for each of the files - it seems like the update
is mainly just a DB table upgrade of some sort on the server, rather than an
actual new backup of the files. It really doesn't add up to more than about 15
minutes for more than 150,000-200,000 files in our case.

Subject: v3 storage format

Hi,

I am running 97 clients, mostly NT and AIX. I understand that when
upgrading the client from V2 to V3, the format of the stored backup
copies is changed during the first backup after the upgrade. Can anyone
tell me how much time this process added to your usual backup
performance? Just a general idea of what I can expect would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks in advance.
