Yes, I have seen this too.  Usually it corresponds with the tape hitting
EOT before the file is completely stored.  In my case, if that client's
tape fills due to migration, then the next night's backups work just fine
to a new tape.

I certainly would like to see someone from IBM confirm/refute my theory,
and offer some help in this area.
