      I am running ADSM V3 PTF 3.1.1.5 on an AIX ver 4.1.5.0 server
      Using a 3495 ESCON connected tape library.
      In fact I have two servers setup the same; on one of the servers my tapes
keep becoming
unavailable -- updating them to acc=readw makes them useable again, but why are
they going
unavailable? This didn't seem to happen with Ver 2.
      When I search the activity log I find the following for this event:
    ANR1040I Space reclamation started for volume xxxxxx
    ANR1044I Removable volume xxxxxx is required for space reclamation
    ANR8324I CARTRIDGE volume xxxxxx is expected to be mounted (R/O)
    ANR8337I CARTRIDGE volume xxxxxx mounted in drive 3490E-4 (/dev/rmt#)
    ANR1041I Space reclamation ended for volume xxxxxx
    ANR8468I CARTRIDGE volume xxxxxx dismounted from drive

     ****** some time passes (a few minutes to over a day) next log entry

     ANR1402W Mount request denied for volume xxxxxx -- volume unavailable
     ANR1410W Access mode for volume xxxxxx now set to "unavailable"

1: Does anyone now why this is happening?
2: Does anyone now how to fix it?
