Hi Jeff,

I am not sure about the 3575, but we run a few 3570 units and they need to have
a wide-differential SCSI connection. The standard SCSI on our IBM servers
(Netfinity) provide fast-wide SCSI, but not differential. We tried, but it
doesn't work unless it is a proper wide-differential SCSI. We use the Adaptec
2944UW card and we have no problems with the 3570.

In the case of our Netfinity machines, 'cos they have their own SCSI, you must
configure the hard-disks and get the Netfinity machine running before you put
in the Adaptec card. Then you can proceed to connect the 3570 unit and then put
on the ADSM software.

Maybe your Compaq machines already run differential SCSI, but I sort of doubt
it - 'cos it's not common to run differential SCSI hard drives on a PC-type
server.

Regards
Shane
