The ADSM GUI has a search capability. Have the user start the
GUI and go into the Restore function. There is a "search" icon
(looks like a magnifying class) that will allow the user to
specify what to search for and where to start looking. In the
start path, just enter the node name. Change the "matches any"
field underneath the start path to "matches mask", then enter
the file name next to the "matches mask". Click on "search" and
it should locate all matching files for that node.

Hi,
I have a customer using the Solaris ADSM client (v3). He needs to
restore a filename that exists in different places in several of his
mounted filesystems. He needs to get all the instances of this file but
the ADSM client will not search across filesystems even with the
"subdir=yes" option.

Obviously he could do each instance individually but I think there are a
lot of copies (>10) and he also has to do this for more than one
filename.

Does anyone know of an easier way ?

thanks Ian
