The reference to filespaces being deleted would be from the perspective of
the Server by doing the
"del filespace" command. With this in mind then would all the files for
these deleted filespaces be removed
from the ADSM D/B?

I believe, though I may be incorrect, that in the original
question the reference to the filespaces being deleted was from
the perspective of the client, and not the filespace being
deleted within the ADSM server with the "del filespace" command.

If that is the case, the answer is no, the filespaces are not
automatically deleted. After a filespace is permanently removed
from a client, a final incremental backup of the now non-existent
filespace must be run in order to mark as inactive all of the
formerly active files.

ADSM takes a conservative approach to filespaces that once
existed but are no longer detected. The presumption is that if a
filespace existed the last time ADSM was run, and it is not
available right now, it may be precisely what you will be wanting
to restore (e.g. a disk drive that has died). In that case, you
won't want to be marking inactive all of your good backups of
that filespace. Unfortunately, this means there is at least one
extra step involved when you actually *do* want all of those
backups to be expired.
