     Sure!
     IT is the simple solution....
     Just :
     Do your export
     then
checkout libvol libraryname volser remove=no checklabel=no
     then
checkin libvol otherlibraryname volser checklabel=no devt=3590 status=private
Then just use the tape in your IMPORT...
After that check it out with remove=no again and check it back into the
tapes original system as status=scratch again and all is well
The library manager will keep a tape in use by one system from being put to
use by another (as long as you assigned different scratch & private
categories when you defined you libraries in the different adsm
     environments connected to the atl.

     later,
           Dwight

Hi all,

I have a question about a 3494 sharing with multiple systems: We like to
use 3494's to share between OS/390 and Solaris, AIX using ADSM on UNIX side
and ADSM and others (DMS/OS etc) on OS/390 side. My question is:

Can I share tapes between these systems (e.g. for export/import features)
If yes, can I prevent tapes from sharing to prevent overwriting of used
tapes?
