Hi Julie,
We have 3 ADSM servers, all AIX, one with a DB of 30GB, the other 2 with
20 GB. I'm starting to think that we don't want to get any bigger than
this.
There was a guy from IBM in Canada who did a presentation at the ISSS
conference a few weeks back whose rule-of-thumb was a maximum of 20 GB,
based mostly on time that it took to do inventory expiration. Although
that was under V2, and with the V3 performance enhances, that number
could go higher.

Subject: Database volume sizes
Does anyone know of any rules of thumb to follow when allocating
database
volumes? I have alot of them, I don't have any bigger than 1500
MB though.
These are going on mainframe 3390 DASD. I'm getting ready to
add a larger
one. How big are some of yours, you that have them bigger than
1500 MB?
Thanks!
Julie
