One of the things that I did yesterday was to compress the
Exchange private information store on the PTLEXM01 Exchange server. In
the process, the information store went from five and one third
gigabytes down to about thirty megabytes.
We have been seeing the following error in the DSMERROR.LOG in
the BACLIENT directory of the PTLEXM01 server

08/05/1998 01:21:37 TcpFlush: Error 10054 sending data on Tcp/Ip socket
1052.
08/05/1998 01:21:37 sessRecvVerb: Error -50 from call to 'readRtn'.
08/05/1998 01:21:37 TcpFlush: Error 10054 sending data on Tcp/Ip socket
1052

I believe that this corresponded to the errors that you are seeing with
ADSM

I thought that I had set up the PTLEXC02 and PTLEXM01 servers with ADSM
exactly the same. The only difference that I could think of is the
amount of data and the time that it took to back the data up. Once the
amount of data and time dropped significantly on the PTLEXM01 server,
the error message seems to have gone away.
