I am having problems determining and explaining to my Management what I
consider the proper hardware/software required to have an efficient network
structure for ADSM.

Our initial structure was as follows.
PC with ADSM Client utilized a 10baseT connection to DEC900(Switch) with
FDDI connection to CISCO Router with 10BaseT to 3745 with Bus & Tag connect
to Mainframe.

Then we went PC with ADSM Client FDDI connect to DEC900 10BaseT connect to
Mainframe(Single Threaded) and waiting for FDDI configuration on Mainframe
to go FDDI to FDDI.

What I believe we need is PC with ADSM Client direct FDDI(Star topology) to
CISCO 7000 seris with channel(ESCON) connect to Mainframe.

What has been suggested by our networking specialist is for our ADSM PC
Client on an independent FDDI Network connected to the mainframe through
ESCON channel (Storage Area Network) and leaving the present structure for
other network client users.

I was interested to know what other Network Specialist(ADSM Administrators)
are using and what recommendations they would make.
