Stuart,
We have the same problem some times with the DLT drives - some types of I/O
errors seem to loop.

Sometimes I will see ADSM take hours to read a tape, with an I/O error
showing up on the ADSM activity log about every 20 minutes.

Sometimes it eventually finishes reading the tape, sometimes we have to kill
it.

I have tried to find out WHY there is this apparent 20 minute loop/retry
cycle, and so far have been unable to.

If you find out anything, I would appreciate it if you would let me know.

Thanks!
