If it is within a 3494ATL connected to a Unix box you can use the
     "mtlib" command ex: mtlib -l/dev/lmcp0 -qI
     to get the inventory data and the first output field is the volser,
     the second is the category...  mtlib -l/dev/lmcp0 -qA  gives you a
     category list and if you have names associated with them it helps,
     otherwise you must check the categories within the adsm server(s)
     using that atl and query the library to see the scratch and private
     categories, convert decimal to hex and you've got the info... and in
     the 3494atl manual you'll see that hex 'ff00' is newly inserted
