     Easy one first...

ADSM puts a dsmerror.log in the current working directory everytime
you fire up a dsmadm, dsmadmc, dsm, or dsmc IF you encounter an error
during your session... that's just the way it goes. You can always do
one of those "find" commands and pipe its output into a "rm" command
to clear the entire system of dsmerror.log files.

Now for your other problem... can't say without seeing more, sorry.

     later,
            Dwight

Hello ADSM users,

I use ADSM 3.1.1.3 server and ADSM 3.1.0.2 client, both on AIX RS6000.
I get this message all the time from my dsmsched.log.
It says here that there are no failed objects but yet my backup has
failed.
I can't see anything wrong.

07/17/1998 23:08:57 Total number of objects inspected: 65,773
07/17/1998 23:08:57 Total number of objects backed up: 726
07/17/1998 23:08:57 Total number of objects updated: 893

07/17/1998 23:08:57 Aggregate data transfer rate: 148.54 KB/sec
07/17/1998 23:08:57 Objects compressed by: 76%
07/17/1998 23:08:57 Elapsed processing time: 01:07:32
07/17/1998 23:08:57 ANS1512E Scheduled event 'GCAC13_BUP' failed.
Return code = 4.

Also my client seems to place dsmerror.log 's everywhere on the system.
Usually I find my dsmerror.log's in the same directory as my
dsmsched.log.
DOes anyone know how I can force the error log in a directory?

Thanx in advance for your answer.
