We have a client running NT 3.5 and have done backup and archives on
this machine with successful completion and files appear to be backed
up and archived just fine. We can restore the backup files with out
trouble. However when we try to retrieve any of the archives we
recieve a message that the file is write protected and we choose the
option to force writing over the protected file. After that all that
happens is it reappears and asking again and again on the same file
what do we want to do and we keep choosing option 1 to force
overwrite. Then have to choose skip or abort and the file is not
     replaced.

the command we are using is

     dsmc> retrieve -desc="servera" -fromdate=6/28/1998 -todate=06/28/1998
     -subdir=yes -pick {E_SERVERA}\*.*

     The server is AIX 4.1.0.4
     server sftw is 3.1.0.2
client is 3.1.0.3 for NT 3.5
