It also depends on what type of machine your server is running on. We
are running two servers, one aix and one on os390 v1r3. The aix
server is running adsm version3, latest ptfs, the os390 server is
running version 2.1 at ptf level 13. We don't have enough load on the
aix server to get a good max thruput number but I believe it will be
much better than what we are getting on the os390 server. After much
tuning we are getting between 2 and 3 gig an hour on the os390 server.

Greetings-- also a newbie ADSM'er. We are bringing ADSM on line, and I have
seen several postings about throughput/performance. I understand it varies
based on network topologies/file size etc. What is an average acceptable rate?

Currently we are getting 1.-1.2G an hour. If this is bad-- what is an
attainable goal?

Thanks in advance-
Brian Callaghan
