I'll blast some ideas of stuff to check:

Are you sure you have the correct scsi id associated with the correct
element number?  If not, the library loads the tape into one drive and ADSM
expects to write on it using the other.  Same for DSMLABEL.

Have you tried using label libvol from within ADSM instead of DSMLABEL?
 Neater utility actually, except you can only use one drive to label tapes
so it is slower.

The tapes aren't write protected, are they?  (looking at the simple stuff
now...)

Looks like a rewind error.  That's strange...

In the Server utilities diagnostic window, does the robot show up as
lbx.y.z.a or somesuch?  Does it show up as a media changer?  What I'm
getting at here is this device supported by the version of ADSM you have?

Are you running the latest PTF?
