We had something similar when te ACL's on the clientmachine where messed up.
 We then put in dsm.opt the option SKIPLANSERVERACP YES and everything could be
backed up again.

I have an OS2 client that won't backup.  The session starts the files are
examined but the backup fails and the error message is access denied. I
have many OS2 clients that work fine and I can't see any difference
between them and this one. I am running the latest os2ptf on the clients
and running nt on the adsm server. Anybody else ever come across this ?
