Didier,

I would think it is possible that you are suffering from the data movement
problems in the early versions of V3 server. I would recommend upgrading as
soon as possible to 3.1.1.3 and running AUDIT RECLAIM. Please consult
through your support centre.

I had similar problems (on AIX) where the session would hang (or process
such as audit vol) and the tape/session resources could only be freed by
restarting the server. You may well find that although adsm thinks there
is a client session, at the client the session has died already.

All this is documented in APAR II11170, IX76734 IX74458 and in the README
for the fixed levels of server (3.1.1.2 and 3.1.1.3). 3.1.1.1 is not a
version of AIX server I would recommend staying on at all.

My PMR reference was 66136 (if you need it for the support centre to look
up).

[This doesn't look quite the same as Peter's problem in backing up, to me.]

Hope this helps, Sheelagh
