Hi,

Does anyone out there recognise this?

My AIX server ( ADSM V3.1.0.2 IX74458) who does a backup of a client (AIX)
incidentally hangs around doing nothing. Only ADSM is running on this
RS6K.
It seems that the client is ( almost) ready, the Servers's SESSION GUI
indicates that 2.4 GB has been backed up an it is in a RUN state. Then when
I look again after 10 minutes at the server I see that it was already doing
nothing for > 20 hours. But canceling the session with the client fails. I
am told ( in the activity log) me that the process is being canceled but
that's all. Repeating the cancel tells again that the process is canceled.
Forever.
There's no indication in the activity file of any difficulties.

Stopping/restarting ADSM is required and enough to get the other clients
backed up normally. At the time of the cancelation I see the (correct)
TCP/IP connection failure in the clients logfile and also that there was
for 20 hours no activity:

About 2 months ago there was a similar problem on an OS/2 client.

How can I find details about what is going on ( on the server or client)
in such situations?
