Hello Luc,
     We had similar kind of problem on our STK9710 unit. Our current
environmet is ADSM version 2.1.15 for AIX.  There are two things that I
suggest you do,
1) label a tape without using the robotic arm, i.e just choosing the drive,
the command for that according to version2
will be:
     dsmlabel -drive=/dev/xxx,yyy -overwrite
where; xxx is the drive name i.e. mt0 or mt1
      yyy is the element number associated with the drive
ADSM should ask you to insert the tape in the drive.
NOTE: You will need the main door of STK9714 open
2) If step 1 works okay, then get the STK tech to turn "ON" the
fast load enable and then try again with your orignal procedure.

     Hello,
     Installing ADSM V3 server on NT 4.0 system, attached to an STK9714
     (DLT7000, 2-drives) library.
     I entered a few cartridges into the robot.  When trying to label them,
     with GUI or command line " LABEL LIBVOL SEARCH=YES LABELSOURCE=BARCODE
     ....", the robot mounts the cartridge into the drive, but from then
     on, nothing seems to happen: no CPU consumption, no dismount, no mount
     of the next cartridge.
     Seems as if process is waiting for barcode label to be passed, or ...?
     Any ideas ?
