Were running on ADSM server ver 2.1.5.18 on AIX 4.2.1 backing up to 3590
tape drives - making copy pool tapes weekly and vaulting them offsite
along with a current ADSM database backup which is taken after the
copypool backup was taken. We also use DRM and the its planfile to
manage our offiste copypool tapes.
 Our problem we ran into at Sunguard - testing our offiste backups was
this -
I recovered our ADSM server from our ADSM backup, marked all our primary
storage pool devices as destroyed, marked our copypool tapes as
readonly, and then attempted to recover on of our clients. I knew his
files were on our copypool tapes 'cause I could see them in the contents
list of a tape in our copypool  When I went to restore his files, the
server complained  no files available on the server, and a bunch of
bitfile errors appeared in the actlog, and on the ADSM console window:

After talking to second level support for a while, and doing a show invo
0 <bitfile#> and a show bfo 0 <bitfile #> we determined that it was just
particular files that the restore was failing on, we were able to do
selective restore of certain files and directories within the filesystem
that I was trying to restore. I managed to restore about 75% of our
/oracle/PRD filesystem, but I'm very conserned about why we don't have
all of our files backup up to a copypool for this very important
filesystem Please Help!
