I didn't see your dsmfmt command. Once the volume is created using the
logical volume manager. You then use dmsfmt to create a file in logical
volume /rad... The syntax is dmsfmt -data \rad...\data01.dsm 4500 (where
4500 is the size of the file to be created in MB). Then you use
adsm>define vol /rad.../data01.dsm stgpool.
I'm not an AIX person, but this is similar to what is done on all ADSM
servers.
