If you need to control inclexcl from the server, and therefore make use of
objects, you may specify wildcards in the pathname. Unfortunately, you may have
difficulty running incremental backup with such an object, having to specify
selective instead.

You could have a distinct include/exclude file on each system that excluded
everything you don't want and includes only those things you do.  Sort of a
pain because you have to modify each client's options file.
