We have ran into the same problem with V3 NT clients running on a
V2.1 level 13 OS/390 server. IBM is aware of a performance problem
and they are looking into it. We also have reported problems with
some Dr Watson errors that we were getting? And some usability
     errors in the restore gui.

Some of our NT and Windows 95 clients complain that when they call up
their GUIs to to a file restore, they sometimes have to wait for as long
as 6 hours for the directory tree backup display to open up.
The restores themselves run very quickly-it's getting there that can be
an all day affair. We had been running Expire Inventory during normal
business days, when these clients are also active. We rescheduled this
process to run during off hours. Though some improvement has been noted,
this process is still taking hours to do.
Does anybody have any ideas on this? We are currentlty running ADSM V2
Release 1 Level 0.13/0.13 from an MVS server. We currently service about
285 clients from a variety of platforms, with a DB of approximently
15Gb. In all other respects our Server seems to be performing great,
with cache hits consistently above 98%.
Any comments would be helpful.
Thanks!
