Hello everyone!

My company has currently been running ADSM V2 for HP-UX and we are
thinking about moving it off of our production
server and on to a separate standalone machine. Because of this, we are
looking at various RS/6000 models. I am not
*THAT* familiar with the different models (but have used a few flavors
of AIX) and am curious to what others are running
to get the best combination of performance. I believe we are looking at
either an F50, J50 with (J01 expansion cabinet) or
an R50. Each machine will have 72 GB of SSA disk, 2 CPU's and 1 GB or
RAM. Each machine will have a 100MB ethernet card
and a 4.5 GB system disk on which will reside AIX 4.2. We are thinking
about using ADSM V3 instead of V2. Each machine will also have 2 FW Diff
SCSI adapters and 2 FW SE SCSI adapters for our current DLT tape
libraries.

Any recommendations? Any better configurable options? anybody with any
gotchas to be aware of? We are trying to get the best performance and
expandability for the $$. We already have a sizable investment in ADSM
and that is why we are looking to put
additional cost investments in it to make it perform even better.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I appreciate any info!
