Multiple TCPIP Connections Unix
1997-12-18 14:27:44
Here's is our planned scenario to connect multiple Network Cards to gain
faster throughput on our backups:
Server: AIXDEV 4.1.5 - TCPServeraddress 162.120.125.113
Client: HP9000(XPS) - TCPIP Connection Address 162.120.125.xxx
162.120.125.xxx
The client is connected to the server through 2 separate physical
communication cards - Not through the serveraddress communication card. In
other words, I have 3 communication cards, the first uses all other clients,
but the last 2 will use only the HP clients. All have communication
connection to the server.
To support these 2 additional communications cards what needs updating in the
client options files. I see an option to update TCPCLIENTADDRESS - but I'm
wondering if I can add 2 TCPIP address in 1 client opt file.
Anybody doing this out there? These backups will be used for ONBAR backups.
Hope I am clear enough on this scenario, if not, please let me know.
Thanks, Gail
