Instead of thinking about having two scheduled services, each with its own
schedule, reverse the logic, and have one scheduled service, with two schedules.
ADSM can handle this, and will schedule the next appropriate service - i.e. - do
the dailies until it time for the monthly.

I have no problems about installing the ADSM Scheduler as an NT service,
but I would like to have to services installed.

One for daily backup and one for montly backups.

But when enabling both service, they interfeer with each other, and none of
them works.

Is it possible to make both service work ?

Best regards,

The information you are reading about AT is pretty outdated.
The information you are reading about AT is pretty outdated.

Look at the icons in the ADSM program group window.
One of them is called "installing the service".

Click that icon and it will open a DOS window and prompt you through
installing the ADSM Scheduler as an NT "service" that runs in the
background.

Take all the defaults for the prompts. The one exception is if you have
registered your machine with the ADSM server under a different nodename
than the NT machine network name. Then when you are installing the
service, when it displays the machine name, you reply NO and give it the
ADSM nodename you want to use instead.

The documentation for the NT service is in the README file that comes
with the client.
There is also an icon for the README in the program group.

A user installed our first NT client yesterday, and we have no
idea how to
get the scheduler to run in the background. According to
"Installing the
Clients", we used the AT command to start dsmc schedule at a

preset time daily.
This doesn't quite make sense because the AT command starts a
new scheduler
everytime it runs. What we need is to start dsmc schedule once
at boot time.
The manual is no help at all.

        client - NT workstation 4.0

        Thanks in advance.
