Kelly,
Please be sure to set the DSM_* environment variables correctly.
DSM_CONFIG=C:\WIN32APP\IBM\ADSM3\BACLIENT\DSM.OPT
DSM_DIR=C:\WIN32APP\IBM\ADSM3\BACLIENT
DSM_LOG=C:\WIN32APP\IBM\ADSM3\BACLIENT
The first one will, of course, vary with the location of DSM.OPT.
The second one, DSM_DIR, is the critical one. Based on the Admin error message
you included, this should fix that problem and may indeed be the source of the
problem with the backup-archive client.
The third one should be set so that DSMERROR.LOG will wind up in a predictable
location.

Subject: ADSM client V3.1.1
From the index.storsys.ibm.com ftp server I have downloaded( a couple of
times) in binary the ADSM client V3.1.1 file ip21169s.exe. I used the
unpacksb.bat to explode the files. I then run setup.exe, after installation
and I try to run the baclient I get an error. So I click on Cancel to debug
and I get the following message:
Unhandled exception in dsm.exe(MSVCRT.DLL):0xC00000FD:Stack Overflow.
click OK.
Find Source box has the following:
Please enter the path for OUTPUT.C
can't find file in c:\win32app\ibm\adsm\baclient
I did a manual search on C: drive and can't find OUTPUT.C
click cancel.
next screen there is a pointer to:
78002290 call _aullrem(0x780024a7)
Also, I get the following error for the Admin
C:\WIN32APP\IBM\ADSM3\saclient>dsmadmc
ANS0113E NLInit: Message repository
'c:\win32app\ibm\adsm2\baclient\dscameng.txt
' has an invalid control record.
Thanks for any help
