We have had that happen before.
Can be any number of reasons; could be a problem mounting a tape, or
could be that your EBU backups are going to a management class that
doesn't point to the right ADSM storage pool.
There are two places to look:
1) On the ADSM server, check the ADSM server activity log. Match the
timestamps to the time you tried the EBU backup (remember to allow for
any time difference in the clock on your EBU client system and your ADSM
server host.) There should be at least a message showing where your
client system contacted the ADSM server, and there may also be an error
message indicating what the problem was with the tape.
2) Your DMSI_LOG var is pointing to /home/backup/log. On the client
system, look in that directory. There should be a file created in that
directory called dsierror.log. That is where the ADSM Connect agent API
writes errors.
We have always been able to find the problem in one of these two places.
