More in the saga, I'm afraid.  My extreme thanks to all of you who have
spent effort on replying.  It's greatly appreciated!

Has anyone experienced any problem backing up and restoring data due to
packet size?  This seems strange to me, given the fact that we were able to
do an initial incremental backup (though we were not able to restore due to
the TCPIP connection failure).
