Add the parameter "ERRORLOGRETENTION 10" to your dsm.opt file to keep 10 days
worth of error logs.

Tim,
The approach I would take is as follows:
1. Identify a location on a non-root drive where the log could be stored.
such as /2nd_drive/logs.
2. Move /dsmerror.log /2nd_drive/logs/dsmerror.log
3. Create symbolic link between /2nd_drive/logs/dsmerror.log and /dsmerror.log
As long as the 2nd drive is mounted during backups, the error log will be
written to that drive.
Also, in our system, ADSM keeps the log files trimmed to 10 days of data.
I believe this is configurable, but I don't know where or how.
