AW: excluding dir names with dots in them
1997-09-24 10:12:47
Steven,
a simple "Exclude /root.b/*" covers only files that are located directly
in root.b.
One should expect that
/dir/* covers all files in dir and
/dir/.../* covers all files in all subdirs of dir, so
both options cover all files below dir.
A short look into the manual pages leads to the result that
/dir/.../* includes /dir/*, so only one exclude is necessary to exclude
a whole branch.
Regards,
Michael
