We never had the two products simultaneously accessing the same
systems but we found ARCserve on NT to have considerable problems in
terms of keeping its database engine running.  Once the db engine
decided on time out it was necessary to reboot the system.  We had
installed ARCserve as the backup tool for our NT and SAP/Oracle
environment but in the end we had to get rid of it and pay the
considerably higher price for the corresponding ADSM package.  The
upside of the extra cost was that the system works.

I can give you all the gory details offline if you like.  I suspect
that posting to this list might be a dubious form of "broadcast
publication" from the legal perspective.
