There was a thread on this last week.  As I recall, it goes something like: ADSM
backs up file a, when done it compares modification info on client to see if
file has changed, if so, ADSM backs it up again, retries compare, etc.

Steve,
        I believe the retries are done in succession... would be nice if ADSM
could retry at the end of the incremental backup but I don't think it
works that way.
