Depending on how you look at this, this might not be an error!  :-)

Can you tell us more about the files?  How big are they?  How big is the DASD
pool that they are going to?  How much free space is available at the time
the backup is attempted?

My guess, without the answers, are that the files that you want to back up
are bigger than the amount of pool space available, and so ADSM will write
them directly to the next pool - offline, usually tape but could be a CD ROM
if you are configured that way.
