You always need to be able to re-build the adsm server from the CWS in
this setup. I currently have the CWS set up as the boot/install server
for the ADSM node, and the ADSM node is the boot/install server for the
rest of the SP environment (9 nodes, 2 frames - about to become 12
nodes, 3 frames).
I've also go an nfs mount of a small filesystem on the CWS that is used
for a copy of the adsm device config and volume history files. The
theory works like this:
Use the CWS mksysb and savevg to rebuild a CWS
Install the ADSM server from the CWS
Use the device config and volume history to define a new ADSM database
Restore the ADSM database from the DBbackup
Use ADSM to restore the other node mksysb images
boot/install/restore . . .
And, in the event it's only a 'minor' disaster, my ADSM database is on
external ssa drives that can be hung on any of the nodes.
