Steve,
You need to run a command to return the offsite tapes to scratch
within ADSM such as :-
UPD VOL * ACC=READW WHERESTG=**** WHERESTATUS=EMPTY
WHEREACC=OFFSITE
This will allow ADSM to return your empty offsite volumes to
scratch status, otherwise your offsite pool will continue to
grow!!
Are you using a tape management system (e.g. CA1) to manage these
tapes? If so, you need to tie this command in with your TMS
Housekeeping/Vaulting schedule and is ADSM ddefined as an EDM,
in which case you will need to invoke the ARCDTEXT exit.
