Re: MAC Names on NetWare Client

Not being the Netware expert, I may still be able to shed some light on this.

1) You can backup/restore Macintosh files stored on a Netware server
2) The Macintosh name space *must* be loaded for both backup and restore
3) Due to certain limitations with SMS (at least to my current knowledge)
if you try to restore Mac files to another location, other than its
original volume, you will *not* get back the full Macintosh name, only the
short 8.3 name.  If you restore back to the original volume, you will get
all the names back correctly.
