Jane,

See the other emails on the potential problems with issuing this command on
MVS from the console. It does display information for each version of each
backup file in the filespace, so the output can be lengthy and cause you to
run out of WTO buffers. On AIX, it's no big deal, plus I did it on a
filespace that only had a few files (I did a q occ nodename * first to see
how many I'd be dealing with). The original email where I first saw this
command said the output should be directed to a file, but at some point it
was dropped in all the replies.

Why are these commands undocumented? When people find out about them, it's
natural to try them to see what information you can get. If you could look
them up in a manual or do a 'help' on them, you could see warnings about
 problems the command could cause.

Tina,

Is this command platform specific? I can't seem to make it work on an
MVS ADSM server.

Thanks,
Jane
