Alfred & Frank,

   I have had backups fail and report a TCP/IP problem when in fact a
single file was causing the problem.  Specifically, this has happened twice
and in both cases the file in question was in a cache directory for
Microsoft Explorer (sound familiar Alfred?).  Also, in both cases the
filename was some gobble-dy-gook (a technical term) that Microsoft Explorer
had named the file based upon its location in the Internet.  To see if this
is fact the problem that either of you are having, I recommend  you either
delete the file or exclude it in DSM.OPT and try the backups again.  I
usually just delete the files if they are in a CACHE or HISTORY directory
of a web  browser as it does not really hurt anything.
