It sound like the user screwed up his/her own system and is blaming ADSM
for something they did.  ADSM backups are only as good as the policy
under which they run.  If the policy said to delete data after 2
versions, when the user knowing that the computer was corrupted
continued to use it for several days, it was their error and they have
to suffer the consequences.  On the other threatened action, it has been
my experience that if the user starts to back up their own computers
they get into even worse problems.  However instead of each pointing
fingers, perhaps it would be better if you and your user form a team and
find out ways of minimizing problems like this.
