Yep. That's the way it works currently. I had the same questions over
a year ago. My work-around was to have the client perform ARCHIVEs on
any filesystem which had these characteristics and might need to be
restored to a specific point-in-time. This is an imperfect solution at
best. The ADSM folks at SHARE implied that a real point-in-time restore
might be available in the next version.
