Hi,

Any answer to this? Passwordaccess generate is not an option on Novell, nor
is leaving the nodename option out of dsm.opt as mentioned can be done on
some platforms in an earlier message. Whenever the scheduler starts, by
using load dsmc sched, a password is required to be entered. That means
that whenever a Novell server is rebooted, someone has to go to the console
to type in the ADSM password; not very practicle.

The only way that I've found to avoid this is to specify the password on
the command with dsmc load sched -password=password. This is like taking
one step forward (not having to enter the password at boot time) but 2
steps back (having a password in plain text in a command file).

Are we missing something, or is this the way things work on Novell.

regards,

Trevor

Hi,

Can this option be used on netware servers?

We have a client that is concerned about security on the
server if he leaves the password on the server.

Thanks
