Can anyone confirm whether I am right in expecting tape reclamation
processing to resume following the process being pre-empted by another
(whose need for a drive is greater)?

I thought that I had often seen "retrying after ..." type messages
before, but not today. The reclamation levels remain set such that
reclamation should still occur, but I've twice today had to restart
by repeating the 'upd stg ... recl=70' command.
