Here is how I start the scheduler:
First I create a subsystem:
mkssys -s adsm -p /usr/lpp/adsm/bin/dsmc -u 0 -a 'sched -q -pas=foobar'
-O -S -n 15 -f 9
then You can start it either by calling "startsrc -s adsm" or let the

system start it by "mkitab adsm:2:once:'startsrc -sadsm'".

Another way would be "nohup dsmc sched -q &".
