I ran with two exabyte 10 tape stackers for about 6 months while
     waiting on out 3494ATL w/ 3590 drives... I don't even remember what
model #'s they were AND I DON'T CARE TO ! OK OK, I'll be nice
because they do have their place.
#1 CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN... not cleaning the drives seems to cause the
     most problems.
I also had many tapes right out of the package that got I/O errors
when we tried to label them...
     later

Hello,

I have ADSM running with an exabyte T440 Stacker and found now, that a large
number (about 12) of volumes were set to state "readonly". When trying to read
from this volumes, the state is changed to "unavailable". So it looks like the
volumes have been damaged. It is a littlebit curious since the stacker is
running with the rest of the volumes stable for the last two weeks.
The stacker does not show any drive faults.

So I am not shure what happened.
Does anyone of you have experience with the Exabyte T440?
Or has anyone had similar problems?

Any hints appreciated.

Best regards,
Karl Molter
