Susan (McClure)...IBM's high tape devices (3480, 3490, 3490E, 3590, 3494..)
are defined in SMIT under DEVICES then TAPE DRIVES, not thru ADSM DEVICES.
This is because they are shipped with the tape hardware, not with adsm.
Also, these devices use the '/dev/rmtx' format....all other adsm tape
drives are the /dev/mtx format.

So, I think you should be able to define the device under aix as before...
ie, rmt2 and use that device addres..

For backup DB, you need a devclass and volumes labelled...you do NOT
need a storage pool...and in fact, backupdb volumes are managed by
adsm outside of storage pools.
