Lee Fosbrink asks about the speed to restore NetWare files.

If you are running TCP/IP in a routed environment, do you have:

     TcpMSSinternetlimit OFF

coded in SYS:ETC\TCPIP.CFG?

I also noticed that you are doing client compression. Unless you have a very
fast processor (i.e. Pentium 90 MHz or greater), or you are moving the data
over a slow link, client compression can incur significant overhead and reduce
restore performance. You may want to try benchmarking backup and restore of
a workload, both compressed and uncompressed to see the difference.

Check the TXNGROUPMAX setting on the ADSM server and the TXNBYTELIMIT setting
on the client. These can have a significant impact on performance, especially
for smaller files. You might try TXNGROUPMAX 256 and TXNBYTELIMIT 25600 if
you are restoring from tape.

Talk to your local IBM SE about this, as they should be able to provide some
assistance. You can also open a tuning question with IBM ADSM support.
